These HAZWOPER certification training courses are designed for organizations who work with, or who may be potentially exposed to hazardous substances and other recognized workplace hazards. Workers who are involved in such hazardous waste operations or emergency response are required to complete the appropriate HAZWOPER certification course, prior to the commencement of work activities. This certification course meets the requirements set forth in the state & federal regulations for the corresponding levels of HAZWOPER training.

  • The provisions and recent changes of the HAZWOPER regulations
  • The hazards associated with work at the covered sites
  • How to reduce or eliminate hazards
  • How to plan & organize covered operations
  • Site emergencies & response
  • How to respond to site emergencies
  • How to characterize a site and requirements of site control
  • How to select, use, maintain & decontaminate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Why & when air monitoring is necessary
  • How to conduct several forms of air monitoring
  • The elements of a medical monitoring program
  • The training requirements of the regulations
  • How to conduct proper training at a hazardous waste site
  • Proper drum & container staging and handling techniques as applicable to operations
  • Why, when & what decontamination is needed at a hazardous waste site
  • How to decontaminate personnel & equipment

 

Course attendees must complete a written HAZWOPER test. Upon successful completion, attendees will receive a certificate of completion wallet card valid for one (1) year. Annual refresher training is required.
